The typical American diet comprises 50% carbohydrate, 35% fat and 15% protein whereas a weight loss ketosis diet comprises 70 to 75% fat, 20 to 25% protein and 5 to 10% carbohydrates.
Carbohydrate intake stimulates insulin production which in turn stops fat burning straight away. Protein will also spike your insulin levels if you eat protein with too much fat in one sitting. You gotta be careful!
Seven Things That Will Stop Ketosis.
1. Stress because stress liberates cortisol which spikes insulin.2. Excessive Caffeine: Tea and coffee activates adrenaline which activates insulin.
3. Excessive Protein: Yes! Every Bloody Thing Stimulates Insulin! Watching TV Stimulates Insulin!
4. MSG: mono sodium glutamate also called “modified food starch”Saccharine (benzoic sulfimide) will spike insulin as will Aspartame which is 200 times sweeter than saccharine.
5. Combining carbohydrate and with too much protein will spike insulin greatly.
6. The three Cs: Cookies, Candy and Cake.
7. Alcohol is derived from sugar / Fruit juice is concentrated fructose (sugar) and cough syrup has sugar to disguise the taste of the medicine.
Ideally we want ZERO sugar in our diet and UNLIMITED vegetables (of a certain type): Ketones produced from fat consumption are acidic increasing the risk of gout and kidney stones: This is mitigated by consuming a lot of vegetables and lemon juice. If you increase the fat load too quickly you will overload the gall bladder and liver. It takes time to adapt to ketosis at the cellular level.
This is the most important fat loss thing to remember: Weight Loss comes down to 80% NOT Doing certain things and 20% Doing certain things.
There are three fat storing hormones and six fat burning hormones: Two of the three fat storing hormones: Insulin and Cortisol, will crush the fat burning hormone and render them ineffective.
Reduce the stress on your body, sleep more and avoid ALL sugar is much more important than all the positive strategies, exercise, eating properly, fasting combined to lose weight.
More soon.
